Oh DREARY...

I am IN LOVE with this spread in the new US edition of Harper's Bazaar. It actually has little to do with the Tim Burton cameo or the shout out to Edward Scissorhands. It's because it is perfectly macabre from the enormous skeleton looming above to the cloudy sky that seems ominous. I adore these spreads and they seem to stick with me longer than they ones where the girls are just pretty.

Wednesday is the best day

The other day I was going out with a friend. It was pretty casual and the weather was a bit cooler than it has been so I wore a plain black t shirt dress, black tights, black ankle boots and threw on a over-sized black cardigan. I was running behind so I didn't bother with any accessories like I usually so aside from my bag(that was red) I was header to toe in black. When I got to the car I heard "You look like Wednesday Addam's". It was really the first time in a while that I had to think about my obsession with black clothes.

I have always been a big fan of black. My entire wardrobe consists mainly of black with a dash of navy and grey here and there. Most of my color comes from my accessories which are often quite bold so I always felt it evened out.

The truth is I LOVE Wednesday Addam's. I wanted to be her when I was a kid and honestly I still do so I'm already certain this fall with consist mainly of black shift dresses, black tights, and some comfy black sweaters. But I will be adding pops of color with scarves, headbands, bags and jewelry as usual.
Now it's time to hunt for some great scarves and accessories to go. But tell me...what is your ideal look for fall right now?

Best of the week - #1

I decided to do a weekly thing where I'll post my favorite pics from the editorials that come out so I don't drown you all in 50 editorials each week. There are probably a million different reasons why I like these but I think I'll just shut up and let the photos speak for themselves.

Kinga Rajzak by Viviane Sassen for Pop Fall/Winter 2009. View it here.

House of Clouds - Melo Dagault by Tung Walsh. View it here.

Suggestions w/ Dioni Tabbers & Sarah Stephens by Ellen von Unwerth for Vogue Italia. View it here.

A Dream of A Dress by Paolo Roversi for Vogue Italia September. View it here.

Fall is always the best time for editorials. Also...fashion week approaches for NYC...

Grey skies are pretty too

I have a new obsession...matte grey nails. Grey is already being talked about as a new fall color and I agree...mostly. I'm way over metallic nail polish. I even tossed some of my older bottles and my collection of thick matte polish in every color is growing quickly (my new favorite being this gorgeous coral from Essie).

Sadly for me, I have yet to get my hands on a matte grey locally(the joy of being in the middle of nowhere) so after hunting the net for the best greys I found this great guide to grey nail polish and I settled on "Recycle" from China Glaze.

Of course knowing me I'll probably pick up a few more colors while I'm at it. I'm thinking seafoam, maybe pretty purple. You can never have too many options!
